Seven days through Eastern Nepal's green hills, river valleys, and rhododendron forests — to the panoramic viewpoint where Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and the full Himalayan skyline command the horizon from Pattale at 2,932m.
Nepal is a country of staggering natural beauty, but one name rises above every other: Mt. Everest. Every year thousands of people travel here just to glimpse the world's highest mountain — but most see it only from afar, through a tour bus window or from a trekking trail. The Everest Motorcycle Tour puts you on the road, fully immersed, riding through the landscapes that lead to its iconic silhouette.
This is Eastern Nepal — a world of terraced green hills, river valleys carved by the Tama Koshi, rhododendron forests ablaze in season, and remote villages that have barely changed in centuries. It's a completely different Nepal from the Mustang desert routes, and just as unforgettable.
The destination: Pattale Bazaar, a dramatic ridgeline viewpoint from which you can see the entire panorama of Eastern Himalayan giants with your naked eye — Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Gaurishanker, Pumori and more, all over 8,000m. No binoculars needed. No summit required. Just the road, your bike, and one of the most powerful views on Earth.
Our 7-day fully guided tour is graded Easy to Moderate — ideal for riders who want a genuine Himalayan adventure without extreme off-road demands. Expert local guide, dedicated mechanic, all permits, all meals on route. Just show up ready to ride.
From Pattale, see Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga and the full Eastern Himalayan skyline — all with the naked eye from one single ridgeline point.
Wake before dawn and watch the first Himalayan light ignite Everest's summit above the clouds. A once-in-a-lifetime moment that rewards the early rise.
Follow the roaring Tama Koshi through dramatic gorge scenery on Day 3 — one of the most scenic and technically rewarding stretches of the entire route.
Nepal's national flower lines the hillside trails from February through May. Riding through a rhododendron forest in bloom is an experience with no equal.
Charikot, Mulkhot, Khurkot — communities where traditional Nepali hill life continues unchanged. Authentic encounters that no resort itinerary can offer.
Drop from the cool altitude of Pattale to the warm Khurkot valley in a single day's ride — Eastern Nepal's elevation changes deliver wildly contrasting worlds.
Unlike the extreme off-road routes of Mustang, this tour suits beginner and intermediate riders. The reward-to-difficulty ratio is extraordinary.
Everest Base Camp is overwhelmed with trekkers. Pattale gives you arguably the most complete Himalayan panorama in Nepal — with almost no one else there.
Our representative meets you at the airport and transfers you directly to your Thamel hotel. We'll introduce you to your assigned bike, run a short test ride to make sure everything fits, and brief you over dinner: route overview, daily distances, riding conditions, gear check, and emergency protocols. Sleep well. Tomorrow, the Himalayan adventure begins.
🛬 Arrive · Brief · Get ReadyEarly departure from Kathmandu heading east — the Araniko Highway and then the Dolakha road take you deep into Nepal's mid-hills. The landscape shifts immediately: rice paddies terraced across hillsides, suspension bridges swaying over swollen rivers, villages clinging to ridgelines. Charikot, the district headquarters of Dolakha, sits at 1,070m and offers the first clear mountain views of the journey.
🏍 First Ride East · Mid-Hills · Mountain TeasersToday's ride follows the Tama Koshi River — a dramatic gorge route that is one of the most scenic stretches of the entire tour. The road hugs the riverbank through narrow canyon passages, with the river thundering below and forested walls rising above. Shorter in distance but rich in scenery, this day is a riding meditation. Mulkhot is a quiet river town — simple accommodation, excellent Nepali dal bhat, and skies full of stars.
🌊 Gorge Road · River Trail · Peaceful StopThe big day. The longest and most challenging ride of the tour, climbing steadily from the Tama Koshi valley through a series of switchbacks into rhododendron forests before breaking out onto the exposed ridgeline of Pattale Bazaar at 2,932m. As you gain altitude, the mountains start appearing — first Gaurishanker, then the unmistakable pyramid of Everest on the far horizon. And then you arrive at the viewpoint. The full Eastern Himalayan panorama opens up in front of you.
🏔 Summit Ride · Everest First View · UnforgettableBefore dawn, make your way to the viewpoint. Watch the alpenglow ignite Everest's summit — the highest point on Earth catching the world's first sunlight. Through clear skies you'll see the full roll call: Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Gaurishanker and more, all rising above 8,000m. Spend the day at altitude — exploring the village, resting, photographing, or simply absorbing a view that most humans will never see.
🌅 Sunrise Everest · 8,000m Giants · Rest & ReflectDescend from the cool heights of Pattale back into the warm lowland valleys toward Khurkot. The temperature change is dramatic — in one riding day you'll go from mountain-cold air to subtropical warmth, watching the vegetation transform around you from rhododendron and oak to tropical forest and terraced farmland. Arrive in Khurkot for a warm evening beside the Sunkoshi River.
🌡️ Big Descent · Temperature Drama · River ValleyThe final stretch home — a scenic Sunkoshi valley ride that brings you back to Kathmandu through the Bhaktapur outskirts. The city arrives with its usual wonderful chaos, but you arrive changed. Farewell dinner in Thamel: time to tell the stories, share the photos, and let the full weight of what you just did sink in. You rode to Everest. On a motorbike. And it was everything.
🏁 Final Ride · Farewell Dinner · Mission CompleteTransfer to Tribhuvan International Airport. We'll see you off with the same warmth we welcomed you with — and quietly hope you're already looking at the Upper Mustang tour page. Everest was just the beginning. The road always continues.
✈️ Departure · Until the Next RideThe finest Himalayan viewpoint in Eastern Nepal — eight 8,000m peaks visible from a single vantage point. No trekking required.
Wake before dawn and watch the world's highest peak catch its first light above the cloud sea. A once-in-a-lifetime dawn.
One of Nepal's most dramatic river canyon roads — tight bends, thundering water, and canyon walls that rise hundreds of metres above.
Nepal's national flower dominates the hillsides above 1,500m. In season (Feb–May), riding through a flowering forest is extraordinary.
Dolakha's main market town — ancient temples, traditional bazaar culture, and the gateway to the deeper Eastern hills.
The return route follows the beautiful Sunkoshi River — a wide, green valley that forms a perfect finale to the Eastern Nepal loop.
Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Gaurishanker — more high-altitude summits in a single view than almost anywhere on Earth.
The indigenous communities of Eastern Nepal — their culture, cuisine, and traditions carry a depth that tourism has barely touched.
Real shots from real riders on this exact route — the valleys, the altitude, and the Everest sunrise that makes it all worth it.
